Psyon Games and Takeda Finland’s co-developed ADHD awareness game, FULL ADHD, has won the award for Most Valuable Patient Education Work in the Reuters Pharma Awards Europe 2022. FULL ADHD, the latest in a growing trophy cabinet, has consistently received the accolade for the works by portraying the real-life struggles of someone suffering from the oft-misunderstood disorder.
Take on the role of young Eetu Vaarakallio and experience what life is like dealing with ADHD. When making choices for where to go and what to do, you are limited by the resource of executive function, which represents Eetus’ ability to focus, organize, and regulate emotions. If mismanaged, the story can spiral out of control.
Far from just a fun visual novel, COMPLETE ADHD has been thoroughly researched and developed in collaboration with an expert psychiatrist and the Finnish ADHD Patient Association. While the main gameplay does a great job of depicting ADHD in action, it also features an extensive in-game library of further info articles on the topics covered in the game.
Since its launch in March 2021, FULL ADHD has received acclaim from critics and players alike for the accuracy with which it depicts the condition. It scored highly on both the App Store and Google Play and has also won four awards to date. Together with the latter, it has claimed the Medical Information Act of the Finnish pharmaceutical industry in 2021, the Applied Game of the Year of the Finnish gaming industry in 2022 and the EMEA SABER Aware 2022 in the Consumer Health category. It’s great to see the beloved art form of video games being used to deliver important information like this, and even more so that it’s being recognized by official bodies.
FULL ADHD can be downloaded for free from the App Store and Google Play.
